The Overlake School is a secular, coeducational, independent college prep school of 530 students in grades 5-12. Founded in 1967, the school moved to its present location on Novelty Hill in 1972, nestled in 73 acres on what was formerly Lindow’s Tall Firs Ranch.
Our mission:
The Overlake School champions students and their vast potential through engaging educational experiences in a diverse and inclusive community. Students are valued as multifaceted individuals and graduate with a passion for learning, ready for any path that contributes to a better world.
Our vision:
The Overlake School will exemplify a student-centered education and a collaborative learning environment that connects to the broader world. We will cultivate a community rooted in equity and mutual respect with our diverse population of families, and we will be known for a definition of human success that includes learning, relationships, well-being, and purpose.
Based on the foundation of a liberal arts education, Overlake offers students an incredible variety of academic courses along with a learning environment that supports ethical decision-making, mentoring relationships between students and faculty, and a strong sense of community.
Overlake students also have access to a championship athletics program, a wide range of award-winning performing and visual arts offerings taught in state-of-the-art facilities, and opportunities for leadership that include student government, outdoor education, clubs, affinity spaces, service learning, and more.
