Manlius Pebble Hill School is located on a 26-acre campus in DeWitt, an eastern suburb of Syracuse, New York. With roots stretching back more than 150 years, MPH is Central New York’s oldest educational institution and the area’s only Pre-K – Grade 12 independent school.
Our mission is to inspire our students to think critically, act responsibly, and discover a passion for lifelong learning. Manlius Pebble Hill School engenders a sense of belonging for all community members by honoring each individual and modeling our Core Values of Authenticity, Respect, Curiosity, Kindness, and Agency. Our School supports the personal growth of every student and colleague, appreciating that each MPH member is freely bound in a social compact that ensures we are mindful of one another and that we act with our collective interest at heart.
The educational environment at MPH is characterized by an exceptional faculty, small classes, hands-on experiential learning, and extraordinary opportunities in independent study, the arts, athletics, extracurricular activities, and community service. Energized by mutually inspiring learning partnerships among students and teachers, MPH’s caring, creative faculty members challenge students to pursue increasingly complex questions, shaping self-directed scholars and conscientious citizens.
MPH takes ownership of the responsibility to shape students who will become empathetic, globally conscientious citizens. We are more than college-preparatory; we are life-preparatory. We teach students to understand their own learning process, develop the ability to think critically and to assess the ethical implications of decisions, and acquire the self-confidence needed to take risks and accept challenges. With attention to all aspects of education. MPH is intent upon graduating students who flourish as productive and contributing members of society.
