Founded in 1863, Brownell Talbot has been the school of choice for families who understand the lifelong benefits of a rigorous, globally minded education. As Nebraska’s only private, independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school, BT seeks to enroll students in grades preschool through 12 who have the motivation to succeed. Brownell Talbot is dedicated to delivering on its tradition of academic excellence in a safe, caring community. It is the oldest school in continuous operation in Nebraska and produced the state’s first high school graduates in 1868. Located in midtown Omaha on a 17-acre campus, Brownell Talbot serves more than 450 students from the greater Omaha metropolitan area. The Brownell Talbot community comprises a rich blend of cultural, racial, ethnic, religious, and socio-economic diversity.

The school has won the award for Omaha’s “Best Private Elementary School” for six consecutive years and has been named best private high school by Niche.com for the past two years.The school received the Siemens Award for Advanced Placement in recognition of its strong AP program and its faculty’s dedication to student success.

Brownell Talbot boasts an engaging global curriculum and exceptional fine arts, athletics, and activities opportunities. A distinctive college counseling program, beginning in eighth grade, guides students through the process of matching interests and strengths to appropriate college and university choices.
